I'm watching this thread for genuine Eucharistic Adoration testimonies that would encourage me to take it more seriously.

I don't have any spectacular miracles at adoration to share with you, but I can tell you that nothing gives me more peace of mind than some time spent with the Blessed Sacrament.

I can tell you that the thing I miss the most (without exception this is the thing I miss the most) since moving to Florida, is perpetual adoration.

I have no great testimony to give, yet I miss talking to Jesus for an hour every week. I used to go on Friday at 4am, we only canceled twice for snow. I can say that I would happily drive over 100 miles (50 each way) if I could find a chapel. If you can get night guardianship (I loved having an early time). That hour truly shapes the week.

I have done Eucharistic Adoration for many years. When I first started, it was only at a few parishes in the diocese. Now there are many more.

I am always amazed at the number of "drop-ins". We have "regulars" who sign in, but there are quite a few people who just come in whenever they can and most of them stay an hour. Surprisingly, there are often drop-ins in the later hours of night.

I can't say enough about the value of this time spent in the Presence of the Lord. Also, I don't have any grand ideas about how easy it is. Sometimes it can be hard to shake off the dust of the world and those times, I just have to sit patiently until the sense of true quiet comes. Once in a while I may start to doze off--but even that seems not so bad when the Lord is there. And though I always make sure I pray for my loved ones while I'm there, I try not to make it a "begging" visit.

I look forward to my hour and don't know what more I can say except--try it and if you find your way clear to make a committment, then do it. The world needs people now who will spend one hour with Jesus. I am convinced that Holy Hours will give us more priests, even though we may never know in this life who they are. Holy Hours will also help the men who are already priests.

We adore Thee, O Christ, And we praise Thee.
