Yes, you'll stick to the ordinations of men, as Jesus recommended against. I'm not Catholic and I hold the Bible the final authority, and recommend you do the same.

He did not. He empowered them. "Whatever you bind on earth I will bind in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth, I will lose in heaven". Powerful stuff.
