Ellen G White was a self-proclaimed prophetess and founder of the modern Sabbatarian Adventist movement. Like many of the cult movements of the 19th century, she was considered a "restorationist" in that she believed and taught that authentic Christinity was lost for 1800 years or so. The evidence of this was the alleged rediscovery of seventh day sabbath practices. Also, like many of the cult groups of the 19th century, she taught that Jesus Christ would soon return for His remnant and take them to heaven.
