What is it out to do?
"What is it out to do?"
Same thing any fraternity does: get away from the women, first :)
Second, it's a service organization. Men organize to do good works: I use my company plane to fly kids who need organ transplants or surgery, for example. We pick up trash, too. We raise money for scholarships.
In Texas, we have a retirement home for widows.
We fund burns centers. They're free.
We put together arguably the finest children's hospital in the world. It's free.
Etc.
No mystery.
It's out to make the world a better place, one man at a time.
If you want to improve the world you live in, you must first improve yourself.
Exactly how the fraternity does this, you will find as many explanations as there are Masons. It's one of those organizations where you get out of it what you put into it.
