Isn't it a wonder to see this man exercise his teaching office! I hope all you Latins appreciate how patristic this pope is and how lucky we all are to have him right now. Near everytime I read one of these posts, E, I shake my head and marvel that I have lived to see the day when I coud read the words of a living Father of The Church.
Absolutely! Not only is he brilliant, but he is a professor at heart. It comes through in his ability to explain things very clearly. Part of being a good teacher is knowing the subject well and part is being able to effectively communicate that knowledge to others. He gets at least an "A+" on both counts.
I was very inpressed when he met with the first communicants and answered their questions. He didn't talk down to them or over their heads and, yet, still gave them substantial answers. God is definitely working through him.
