My point was, why not use the acronym, instead of the acronym and some of the words. PICS, PIN, TEC, ATM, etc.
Actually there is a rational reason for adding to the acronym and the PICS Statement is a good example. PICS could stand for many things like ATM could stand for many things. By also specifying the last word after the acronym it helps identify which of many possibilities the acronym is being used for.
