Well, I guess dogs aren't for everybody.

My 18 year old loves the dog (and of course the dog worships her) but my 15 year old prefers cats.

He's going to wind up with some dog duties, though, now that the 18 year old is off at college . . . as my husband tells him, it's just the price you pay for three squares and a warm place to sleep . . .

My husband has talked about getting a dog on occasion, but when I asked whether he could guarantee that I would never have to do any dog care activities (I'm not sufficiently fond of dogs for that!), he didn't want to commit.

Maybe in our retirement years, he can nurture a dog.

Oh, dear. The children are hitting one another with sticks!
