~~"The Church is the Kingdom. Christ is the King of that Kingdom. Christ is King, of the Church, of all believers and all disbelievers. He's King period."~~
Amen! Why would anyone NOT choose to understand Scripture this way? What's the benefit to anyone for delaying His rule?
LEAD ON, O KING ETERNAL
Text: Ernest W. Shurtleff, 1862-1917
Music: Henry T. Smart, 1813-1879
1. Lead on, O King eternal,
the day of march has come;
henceforth in fields of conquest
thy tents shall be our home.
Through days of preparation
thy grace has made us strong;
and now, O King eternal,
we lift our battle song.
2. Lead on, O King eternal,
till sin's fierce war shall cease,
and holiness shall whisper
the sweet amen of peace.
For not with swords loud clashing,
nor roll of stirring drums;
with deeds of love and mercy
the heavenly kingdom comes.
3. Lead on, O King eternal,
we follow, not with fears,
for gladness breaks like morning
where'er thy face appears.
Thy cross is lifted o'er us,
we journey in its light;
the crown awaits the conquest;
lead on, O God of might.
1Ti 6:14-15 That thou keep [this] commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, [who is] the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
They believed it because it was a promise made by God to them.
It had nothing to do with 're-incarnation'.
Daniel was told that he would stand upon his lot (Dan.12:12).
They will be resurrected and receive land in Israel.
The last question the Apostles asked the Lord before He ascended was when was He going to restore the Kingdom (Acts.1:6)
The problem was that they did not understand that Christ also came to die for their sins as well.
Now this is not all wrong, as to be in God's Presence is the most anyone can hope for, and it is possible to be there here on earth, but you have to have the "faith" of Abraham for that, not his genes.
Yes, the Kingdom of God is better than the Kingdom of Heaven, but both are part of God's Plan.
So the Christian (mostly Gentile) is getting a greater blessing than the Jew who had first crack at it, but rejected it.
That is what Paul is explaining in Rom.9-11.
He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords but His relationship with the Church is as a husband, not a King (Rev.19:7-8, Eph.5:30)
So?
Christ is a King.
But you also cannot have a bride without being a husband.
He is a husband to the Church.
And that means the church has a unique relationship with Christ, being conformed into His very image.
Amen.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all." -- Ephesians 1:17-23"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
So Christ is King of everything but not His own Kingdom? That just makes no sense. What is your purpose for claiming this?
The Church is not the Kingdom.
The Kingdom consists of other spiritual entities, such as Angels.
The Church is part of the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of Heaven will be a physical Kingdom with flesh and blood people repopulating the Earth and in the eternal state, the universe.
Well then, here's our problem right here. I really don't know what to say.
I never realized some Christians did not believe that Christ is "King of the church." He is King of EVERYTHING.
Just think how this disbelief neuters Christianity.
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all." -- Ephesians 1:21-23"Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Seems clear to me. Christ is King.
Christ is both a King and a husband.
He is King of His Kingdoms,(Kingdom of God and of Heaven) and husband to His bride, the Church.
The Church is not the Kingdom.
My purpose in showing you this truth is for you to read the scriptures, something you do not seem to have done in quite a while.
"And hath put all things under his feet..."
It is mind boggling
The Kingdom is within. Anyone who has the HS has become part of the Kingdom. And has part in the Kingdom. Immanuel. God with us.
But He is not called King of the Church, which is His Bride.
Now, I see scriptures stating that Christ is a husband to the Church (Eph.5:30,32,2Cor.11:2, Rev.19:7-8), but not one saying that He is King of the church.
Christ is never called King of the Church. "The King" is indeed one of the divine titles, and the Church in her worship joins Israel in exalting "the king, eternal, immortal, invisible." Ps 10:16; 1Ti 1:17. But the church is to reign with Him. The Holy Spirit is now calling out, not the subjects, but the co-heirs and co-rulers of the kingdom 2Ti 2:11-12; Re 1:6; 3:21; 5:10; Ro 8:15-18; 1Co 6:2-3 (Scofield Notes)
Amen.
But the Church is not the Kingdom of God, the Church partakes of the Kingdom by being filled with the Holy Spirit (1Cor.6:19)
Not the Church, which is 'bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh'
Well technically a "church" is only a gathering together. "Church" in the real sense= all spiritual Israel, and Christ is King. Since when can't a King be a husband? That is merely a metaphor to show how He loves us, not a reality. No one is going to "marry" Christ and in fact, we are admonished not to even think in those terms.
He is your husband.
