Check this out - something I caught on my third reading of the article. First, the signees of the "call to action on global warning"....

A group of 86 evangelical bigwigs issued a "call to action" on global warming. At a press conference in Washington, "the signers urged U.S. lawmakers to pass a law requiring that emissions of carbon dioxide be reduced."

Among those signing the statement were several Southern Baptist leaders, including pastor Rick Warren....

Now check the list of signees of the "don't take a position" letter...
The climate initiative was undertaken after other prominent Evangelicals sent a letter to the National Association of Evangelicals urging that no official position be taken on global warming because there is disagreement among on the severity of the problem. Signers included ....[skipping past the long list, jumping right to the last name].... and Rick Warren.

That's right. Rick Warren, doing his best John Kerry impersonation, was against it before he was for it.
