Cristofaro's church is one of a handful of Florida congregations that tithes a monthly donation to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, a practice that stems from a belief that Israel must control the Palestinian territories in order to fulfill biblical prophecy. The congregation has donated more than $100,000 to support Israeli settlements in the past decade, Cristofaro said.
A graphic illustration of how eschatology sometimes trumps evangelism. This church could have invested that $100,000 towards fulfilling the Great Commission. Instead the church's financial priorities are "to fulfill biblical prophecy."

Seem like we were praying for Florida to be saved last year at this time. How many hurricanes this year???

While I don't support this Church's particular interpretation of the Bible, it is interesting to me that the MSM (and the Left, but I repeat myself) like to raise examples like this of evangelicals sending money to Israel to, you know, build settlements or defend their country because they think it will speed the return of Christ, but the MSM and the Left
never mentions the fact that the friggin'
President of Iran thinks that the 13th Imam will return and inaugurate the Islamic version of the "end times" if he detonates a nuke in Tel Aviv.
Which religious belief is more dangerous?

"Other Jewish leaders say evangelicals have toned down the religious aspects of their pro-Israel mission in recent years, particularly their insistence that Jews convert."
That is sad, and it sort of belies the title "evangelical," doesn't it? Why can't these Christians be big supporters of Israel and Jews settling the land without forgeting that Jesus Christ and the Gospel message come first? The two things are not mutually exclusive.
