John was a prophet of God, and the book of Revelation is an unveiling of Jesus Christ. Since He was hidden in the OT somewhat and revealed in the New, the Book of Revelation has elements of all biblical history, from creation until the end of time. That may cause some to believe that it was written earlier, but John was a prophet, and it would be at the time that he indicated, that he spoke these things. Since it is Jesus speaking in actuality I believe the plain and simple facts are the truth. If not, he would have said so.
