I would have to say that everything in the Bible is signifigant. Just like I said when I tell my kids not to do something and I happen to say this to them at 1:00p.m. The should not try to interpret whether I meant not to do it right now but can do it later. Not to do it again at 1:00p.m. when Dad said not to do it. No, it means not to do it again ever. If I wanted them to stop doing it and do it again later I would have told them that.
Exatly!!! People "interpret" the verse to fit their purpose. There is only one meaning.
Lets look at just this one. What you've stated directly contradicts what Scripture states. Baptism with water is required and is not just a show for the public:
Acts 8:38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.
Acts 22:16 'And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'
Romans 6:3-4 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Peter 3:19-21 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while [the] ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us -- baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
The person whom we ask forgivness from can forgive us for our sin against them but only God can forgive us of our sinfullness. The person can forgive us but they can't forgive our sins and sinful ways only Jesus can. If the person we ask to forgive us refuses and we still ask God to forgive us for our wrong doing against another we are forgiven even if the other person wants to hold a grudge. We are forgiven by God.

Then who's to say the Church is wrong in what she teaches, and twisting the Bible to reflect her teachings? Why are the interpretations Titanites posted any less valid than your own? How can you say for sure that what you believe is the correct meaning and another's beliefs are wrong?

30K PLUS protestants denominations and growing. So which little denomination is correct? Sorry, MwC, you couldn't even interpret my simple 1 line post to you earlier. So let me say I trust your interpretation to be inaccurate in many areas.
