Aside from the levity of the post, this is to me a perfect example of a common misunderstanding and confusion that exists among many Christians. What is described is not charismatic but pentecostalism.
Genuine charismatic churches don't disrupt the service with gratuitous outbursts and obstreperous distractions created by individuals. They respect too much their fellow worshipers to interrupt the liturgy and communal devotion.
Some charismatic churches have meetings apart the service itself where all can express themselves individually without impeding the corporate common prayer and worship.
St. Paul's admonition about speaking in tongues is a good one. If you feel so compelled, fine, but don't let it become an obstacle to others who choose not to do so or don't understand. Don't, above all, be so self-preoccupied that you hinder other worshippers.
So you're saying there's a difference between "Avast!" and, um, "Halvast!"
