She's right about "pings."
A ping is to call someone's attention to the thread.
Anyone who reads your posts is allowed to respond.
"Then why is it that when I go into my personal account the replies that are sent to me are listed under the title "Pings?"
When you have something new, it shows up as "New Posts To You."
Mine is a nice, pretty, bright red. ;o)
