Quick update. Surgery last night went very well, it appears. Half her thyroid was removed, but tests on the lump removed from the neck were inconclusive. The doctors seem to think there is a 40% chance of it being malignant, however it hadn't spread to the entire thyroid, so they will keep an eye on it.
Does this thread know that Don died Saturday night? His funeral was yesterday. We, his family, are all heartbroken and that includes his many, many business associates.
Yes, MamaB...I posted that he had passed after you let me know...and I linked to your update. And we have had you and yours in our prayers.
And we will be here for you as long as you need us.

Please remember queenkathy's son, who is coming up on the anniversary of his wife's death a year ago Sunday (in an accident where he was driving.) His son will also be returning to Florida the day after, and it will be a hard weekend for him.

Apparently this form of lymphoma is very rare, only 80 residents of the US are diagnosed with it per year.
This whole issue brings to mind another Pittsburgh mayor, Caliguiri, who died approximately 20 years ago from another very rare disease, amyloidosis. The mayor of Erie PA also suffered from this disease at approximately the same time.
Prayers offered up for your loss. May the Lord give you comfort in this sad time.

I posted this on the wrong thread, after I clicked over from this one. I was on the thread for the young teenaged boy who was missing and then found deceased:
I'm so sorry to read this. I've put his family into my prayers.
We had the same situation near me that turned out the same way, with the 16-yo girl's body found on Monday. She had been murdered and the suspects, other teens from her HS, were caught just tonight after crossing the border into Canada from Michigan. (We're in SE TX.) I am also praying for her -- and the family and friends of Ashton Glover.
My prayers are also for everyone on this thread and all those in need tonight. Mean people, too.
And especially for the wonderful horse, Barbaro, who could use all the prayers anyone could muster right now for an animal. If you don't believe in that, it's OK - I'm adding extras.
