John Danforth - an Episcopal priest, ...- has recently urged conservatives in the U.S. Episcopal Church and the U.S. Senate to back off from their fight over gay marriage Satan agreed with Dan and thanked him.

We have always seen ourselves as the place where all kinds of people can come together around the same altar and say the same liturgy and have all kinds of different views, all kinds of political views, theological views. That's the Episcopal Church and it's going to continue to be the Episcopal Church. The church that believes in nothing!

He was a Mark Hatfield type of Senator, completely feminized, thinking that a wimpy Christian facade will ingratiate them and make them unifiers. He has taken his spiritual castration from the Senate to the ECUSA, thus elevating the testosterone level in the Senate and lowering it in the ECUSA, if that is possible. My junior partner's sister was his archivist when he left the Senate and did not think much of him as a force for anything.

When Jon signed off on Bill and Janet's massacre of the church in Texas, he lost much more than just his honor.

He was always among the "usual suspects" when he served, a sort of forerunner to the "gang of 14ish" we have now. I am embarrassed to think that he represented MO as long as he did. He hasn't gotten any better.

There are these little splinter churches, and I read the paper in St. Louis in which they have little ads for so-called Anglican churches. Maybe they are. I don't know what they are. One of them meets in a mortuary and it's not one of these bright colonial mortuaries, either. It's limestone and stained wood and then the Sunday School meets for 45 minutes...I don't want to make fun of people, but it's sad. A broken church is a sad church. Don't be a sad church. Don't go to the mortuary before it's absolutely necessary.Yeah. What about the early Christians in Rome who met in the catacombs? What a dumb-dumb Danforth is! He's a priest and doesn't even remember about the catacombs!!!!
A broken church IS a sad church. And any "church" that picks the New World Order feminazi heretic Jefferts-Schori to be its mis-leader is very sad and very broken indeed. It is salt that has lost its savor!!!!

Danforth's greatest accomplishment was providing a middle name for Dan Quayle.

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." -- John 15:5-6

Sickening. What a typical politician

Very good comment about the catacombs, you are right he should indeed have thought of that, but he was too busy sneering at people, what a typical elitist.

Perhaps Danforth should pay attention to context:
15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you...18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 "After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20 "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, what then has happened that R943 You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?" 23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me.
Etc...

Good ol' Danforth...white-washer of the Clintoon massacre at Waco. He will have a lot to answer for before the Judgement seat of Christ, and no one should be foolish enough to listen to this wolf in sheep's clothing. It's telling that he fondly recalls the Soviet Union. That's the nostalgic past for Leftists everywhere.

>> With his repeated calls for moderation and his attacks on the Evangelical Right <<
I am always amused at the left's inability to recognize their own hyposcrisy when they lay the discrepancy out so plainly. Frankly, Danforth is no right-winger, but, without seeing his entire talk before me, I suspect he would almost be ashamed to be reported as such.

It spent three days debating an amendment to the federal constitution designed to define what marriage is and the Senate is poised later this month to take [up] the constitutional amendment to prohibit burning the American flag. How wrong we the people are to think we are entitled to make those judgments. Everyone intelligent enough to read the new york times knows those jobs are for the Federal Courts with the assistance of snivel liberties union lawyers.
