So where are we?
ECUSA is a "Christian church" that refused to pass an affirmation of basic Christian doctrine. It passed a Windsor Report resolution it obviously doesn't really mean, that doesn't even address one of the key Windsor questions and which a significant number of its bishops have publicly declared that they will not observe.
Rowan Williams was clearly underwhelmed by ECUSA's response as was the Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa. The Anglican Communion Network has taken the first tentative steps toward independence, some in the Network walking less tentatively than others. Meanwhile, Gene Robinson and Susan Russell prattle on about "conversations" neither really wants to have or can afford to have.
All of which means what? It seems abundantly clear that any orthodox Episcopalians still in ECUSA should immediately start making their ways toward the exits. Orthodox parishes who claim to take the Gospel seriously but who, for whatever reason, can't or don't feel called to leave ECUSA right now should take every opportunity to disassociate themselves from the national church. Reducing or withholding assessments or affiliating with the Network(particularly if the bishop disapproves) would be a good start.
ECUSA's course is set and will not change. The orthodox position within ECUSA, which was weak before GenCon, is now on life support.
You won't find disagreement here -- though I haven't heard of the Western Orthodox before. Thanks for the link!

I think I once called it "Orthodoxy for western sissies". I've tried to keep this info from you....Orthodoxy Lite! (but let me hasten to add, fully canonical) :)
BTW, hope you are having a good Apostles' Fast.
"I recall what Frederica Matthewes-Green said about Western Rite Orthodoxy, "It's too ethnic."
Said like the good Orthodox lady she has become!
"BTW, hope you are having a good Apostles' Fast."
Well all of the summer fasts are good ones since we have moved to the computer free zone of the cottage at the pond! I only have to deal with these infernal machines at the office. :)
LOL!
