You're on the money re/his Pantheism. We're sitting tight through this General Convention, but will have some difficult decisions (presumably) to make after that.

Well, GC2003 was my husband's break point (we had been unhappy for some time, but I did not want to leave without his full agreemeent.)

I don't know if you're "low", "high", "middle", or "broad," but we have been VERY happy in a conservative, orthodox (little o) Catholic parish here. We were previously in a very "high" ECUSA parish from a ritual standpoint, although "low" in theology (at least since the new rector arrived.)

But once you find an orthodox Catholic parish, so long as your diocese has a sound bishop, you've found a place that preaches the Gospel and will not yield to the Spirit of the Age.

My parents are still in their ECUSA parish in the Diocese of Georgia, because their parish is very conservative and completely autonomous, plus their bishop is a "live and let live" man -- unlike our former bishop.

But, anyhow, my mom was raised Presbyterian so of course has a horror of the "Romans". We finally persuaded them to attend church with us when they visited . . . and mom was amazed, she said,"The service is just like ours." It is, pretty much, with a few minor variations. I don't believe she had ever set foot in a Catholic church in her life - she appears to be considerably mollified.
