A “Catholic Nun” is a Sensei in the White Plum Asanga

I post the following because yesterday's Bulletin at my Church had a notice about a "Women's Weekend Retreat, A Fool for Christ" The notice had a Rev. Timothy Armbruster, CPPS of St. Joseph Missouri as the director of the Retreat.

What caught my eye in the blurb was the following: "He began "clowning around" as a result of a dare from his mother...and still continues his ministry today."

I proceeded to search Fr. Armbruster but found nothing listed. I also searched the Web site of www.pbspiritualcenter.org the location of where the Retreat would be.

I found the following:

Rose Mary Dougherty, SSND is a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame who has worked in the area of spiritual renewal for the past thirty years. As a spiritual director, retreat/conference leader, and program director at the Shalem Institute, Rose Mary has worked with numerous individuals and groups as they have come to understand how it is they are called to live and choose authentically out of who they are in God.

I also found the following: "Rose Mary Dougherty, SSND, was moved to Sensei in the White Plum Asanga"

Another site had a past ad:

Silver Spring Zendo

Another site had an article "Invisible Women" by Susan Reeves, ASC

http://www.adorers.org/files/adorers/files/CJ06Feb.pdf The article was about how women are treated world wide. What bothered me is that not one word about abortion or contraception. Oh! She did list those who would aid the women and included several United Nations Agencies which are all pro abortion and pro contraception. Amnesty International was the first on the list and of course their mission is to spread abortion and contraception.

Another site was

http://www.9types.com/writeup/enneagram.html#intro

It was about enneagrams promoting a lecture by Constance Sophy, RSM

TOPICS: Current Events; Religion & Culture
KEYWORDS: abortion; chanting; enneagram; shaleminstitute; traininginput; zazen; zen; zendo
This part of an email I sent to my Church. The Pastor is away but I sent it to the Secretary and the priest in residence. We all know each other and they will be shook up by all this.

I noticed in today's bulletin a promotion for a women's weekend retreat at Columbia, PA. A Fr. Armbruster will be involved. I don't know him but when I see clown when referenced to a priest I think of the clown Masses in California.

I looked at the Center's Web site and noticed that the Center is used for many religious organizations including Zen and the Council Of Churches. That does not bother me unless the Nuns are doing Yoga in a spiritual way.

What bothers me is the attached Web page shows suggested references to the United Nations Agencies which distribute condoms and support abortions. Also, one of the largest promoters of contraception and abortion, Amnesty International is endorsed. I personally do not believe a Catholic should be endorsing these groups.

I wonder what the Sisters' know of these organizations or what the Sisters' opinions are of contraception and abortion? I'm sure it is just an oversight? I hate to see a group of young ladies go to this retreat and come away less Catholic?

From the dictionary:

A teacher or mentor and probably a form of Yoga. I do not know anything about these subjects. The problem is it is spiritism.

They are just as Catholic as the women who were ordained as priests and as members of Catholics for Choice.
Hope that clarifies things.
