I'm not sure how that proves the point.

It doesn't! And that is why I gave up on any future discourse unless some admissions were made which were very plain in scripture. When scripture says something very specifically.... but one's theology contradicts that scripture, I can understand how it would be difficult to face that reality. I think we have witnessed a great case of difficulty.

By the way....I forgot to thank you for this thread. it has been a delightful read.

A pretend concern and pity for your opponent is mere tactic. But then there's always Scripture. Just for kicks, how would you twist this one, for instance, in order to fit in with your personal theories? From Second Thessalonians, chapter 1:

"Seeing it is a just thing with God to repay tribulation to them that trouble you: And to you who are troubled, rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven, with the angels of his power: In a flame of fire, giving vengeance to them who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who shall suffer eternal punishment in destruction, from the face of the Lord, and from the glory of his power: When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be made wonderful in all them who have believed; because our testimony was believed upon you in that day."
