The Buddhists (and others) teach the Spirit is eternal and finds a final resting when man reconciles him to his Father. I thnk Jesus, as King and Priest of Israel, being born Prince of the House of Judah, heir to Throne of David and High Priest of the Temple, for which he was crucified, taught much the same.

Our Lord taught (and still teaches) this:

"It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the Judgment." - Hebrews 9:27

...which is not at all "much the same" as false religions teach. It makes life very convenient if you delude yourself into thinking, as the Buddhists (and others) do, that you get an unlimited number of chances to get it right, but it doesn't make dying any easier, and it doesn't make the next life very convenient at all.

Your eternity is fixed at the moment of your death.

"It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the Judgment." - Hebrews 9:27

{Revelation 20:5-6] (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

In the above verses "the rest of the dead" are referring to those who did not take part in the first resurrection, verse 4. These are the folks who never had a chance during their lifetime to know the "Word". During their next lifetime they will indeed be given the opportunity to understand God's plan (second chance) for them and they will choose between eternal life......or eternal death. If you think about it, many folks who do not understand the Bible and unfortunately have learned false doctrines during their lifetimes, never really had a first chance....did they?

[Then death and Hades (the grave) were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.] [Revelation 20:14-15]

Your eternity is fixed at the moment of your death.

Are you certain of this?
