It says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." I'm familiar with the law. The topic was whether or not churches should "render unto Ceasar".

The topic is that churches are not taxable by our own founding documents and our own law.
In NOT paying, they ARE rendering unto Caesar. It's the law.
