"Professor Litewaite said he had found the manuscript of the Gospel of Skip and Muffy several months ago. 'The significance of the discovery was immediately obvious,' he said. 'But my publicist suggested that I should wait until Holy Week to make it public.' "

Lol. Yes, sometimes timing is everything.

How does the Gospel of Skip and Muffy compete with this one?

Around 180 AD , Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyon in what was then Roman Gaul, wrote a massive treatise called Against Heresies. The book was a fierce denunciation of all those whose views about Jesus and His message differed from the mainstream church. Among those he attacked was a group who revered Judas, "the traitor," and had produced a "fictitious history," which "they style the Gospel of Judas."

Saint Irenaeus was taught the Faith by Bishop Polycarp of Smyrna, who himself was taught by the Apostle Saint John the Evangelist.

I suppose I am expected to believe that the New York Times and the National Geographic Society are greater authorities than Saint Ireneus? The Lord of the Flies must be loosing his grip.
