The term 'everyman' is referring to the 'common man'
As defined in the Compact Oxford English Dictionary,(pg.539) not to all human beings.
The context makes that meaning very clear.
I know you are too well educated to have thought otherwise.
I do not think that the KJV is the only valid English translation.
I think it and the TR are of great use because the pre-date modern textual and historical criticism. While some of that infection might have crept into choices made in other texts and translations, the KJV provides a means of comparison.
However, any accurately translated word in any version is as good as any accurately translated word in another version.
However, any accurately translated sentence in any version is as good as any accurately translated sentence in another version.
And the whole thing is words and sentences.
