Rome is so concerned about ecumenism and reunification with the Orthodox, but the Novus Ordo is seen by the Orthodox as Rome's rejection of the shared pre-schism liturgical traditions.

I think the Orthodox would feel much better about reuniting with a Vatican that suppressed the Novus Ordo in favor of its liturgical patrimony than what it has now. The Orthodox are the Roman Catholic liturgical Traditionalist's best friends ecumenically.

I have yet to meet one Orthodox layperson or cleric who has anything nice to say about the Novus Ordo.

You got that right! If anything, the NO has set us back years towards an end to Schism of 1054.
