As a member of the diocese of Alabama, I can offer my own opinion on Bishop Andrus. He is a solid revisionist. He is fine, kind, warm, somewhat charming man. But his theology is revisionist in type.
He voted against BOO1.
He speaks about the feminine divine and sees God as mother at least sometimes,
He received a tibetan begging bowl as one of his ceremonial gifts at his consecration.
He asked Desmund Tutu to speak at The Cathedral so that he could compare and equate the horrible doctrine of Aparthied to the christian doctrine of calling homosexuality a sin.
Up to you all, but that all sounds pretty revisionist to me.
Plus you can search for his name on the Stand Firm site and get many, many more specifics. As a suggestion, you might look for the many comments about his diocesan address last February. Its worth the read.
Respectfully,
George.
As I posted on another thread, I was disappointed by the result. It just gives the so-called conservative bishops more room to wiggle. I was hoping that the liberals would paint them into a corner.
That's not revisionist, that's schismatic.
