1 Kings 7:23 and 2 Chr 4:2.
It something I carried over from a Crevo Thread. The athiests were claiming that the Bible was in error because the bible supposedly taught that Pi=3. They pointed to a bowl made for the Temple where the diameter of the bowl was 10 cubits (or 180 inches) and the circumference was 30 cubits.
But what they failed to take into consideration was that the bowl was one handsbreadth thick (which is about 4 inches). When you subtract 2 handsbreadths from the 10 cubits you have 172 inches inside (or usable) diameter. Multiple 172 inches by pi and then divide that by 180 and you find that the inside circumference is 30.0196631 cubits. Essentially you have an error factor of less than 2/10th of a percent.
The moral of the story is: If by chance you think you have discovered some fatal in scripture, you just need to dig a little deeper.
make that "fatal error"
