1.GRAHAM DOES NOT EMPHASIZE SALVATION THROUGH THE BLOOD OF CHRIST - THis is false

From Graham's web site on the first page.

How to Become a Christian

The central theme of the Bible is God's love for you and for all people. This love was revealed when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world as a human being, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead. Because Christ died, your sins can be forgiven, and because He conquered death you can have eternal life. You can know for sure what will become of you after you die. You have probably heard the story of God's love referred to as the "Gospel." The word Gospel simply means "Good News." The Gospel is the Good News that, because of what Christ has done, we can be forgiven and can live forever. But this gift of forgiveness and eternal life cannot be yours unless you willingly accept it. God requires an individual response from you.

The following verses from the Bible show God's part and yours in this process:

God's Love Is Revealed in the Bible "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." —John 3:16 (NIV)

God loves you. He wants to bless your life and make it full and complete. And He wants to give you a life which will last forever, even after you experience physical death.

We Are Sinful

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." —Romans 3:23 (NIV)

You may have heard someone say, "I'm only human—nobody's perfect." This Bible verse says the same thing: We are all sinners. We all do things that we know are wrong. And that's why we feel estranged from God—because God is holy and good, and we are not.

Sin Has a Penalty

"For the wages of sin is death." —Romans 6:23 (NIV)

Just as criminals must pay the penalty for their crimes, sinners must pay the penalty for their sins. If you continue to sin, you will pay the penalty of spiritual death: You will not only die physically; you will also be separated from our holy God for all eternity. The Bible teaches that those who choose to remain separated from God will spend eternity in a place called hell.

Christ Has Paid Our Penalty!

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." —Romans 5:8 (NIV)

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, has paid the penalty for all your sins. You may think you have to lead a good life and do good deeds before God will love you. But the Bible says that Christ loved you enough to die for you, even when you were rebelling against Him.

Salvation Is a Free Gift

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." —Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

The word grace means "undeserved favor." It means God is offering you something you could never provide for yourself: forgiveness of sins and eternal life, God's gift to you is free. You do not have to work for a gift. All you have to do is joyfully receive it, Believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ died for you!

Christ Is at Your Heart's Door "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." —Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

Jesus Christ wants to have a personal relationship with you. Picture, if you will, Jesus Christ standing at the door of your heart (the door of your emotions, intellect and will). Invite Him in; He is waiting for you to receive Him into your heart and life.

You Must Receive Him "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." —John 1:12 (NIV)

When you receive Christ into your heart you become a child of God, and have the privilege of talking to Him in prayer at any time about anything. The Christian life is a personal relationship to God through Jesus Christ. And best of all, it is a relationship that will last for all eternity.

2.BILLY GRAHAM DOES NOT BELIEVE HELL IS A PLACE OF LITERAL FIERY TORMENT - Misleading if not false

In the entire quoted matter, Graham never says he does not believe hell is a place of literal "fiery" torment. He does say that the fire COULD be symbolic as opposed to literal.

3.GRAHAM REFUSES TO DEFEND THE BIBLE AS THE INERRANT WORD OF GOD - Misleading if not false

"‘I believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative word of God,’ Graham says, ‘but I don’t use the word ‘inerrant’ because it’s become a brittle divisive word.’"

This statement does not prove what Graham does or does not believe. It does prove that he wishes to avoid devisive language when being interviewed.

4.GRAHAM SAYS THEISTIC EVOLUTION IS POSSIBLE - Misleading or false

Actually, he said that your particular belief on this issued does not invalidate the doctrine of salvation. He did not say what he personnaly believes. The quote is below.

Graham said in 1966, “How you believe doesn’t affect the doctrine. Either at a certain moment in evolution God breathed into one particular ape-man who was Adam, or God could have taken a handful of dust and blowed and created a man just like that”

5. GRAHAM SAYS THEOLOGY NO LONGER MEANS ANYTHING TO HIM - Misleading or false once again

Here, yet again is a single quote, with no context, where Graham is addressing people being "separated by theology and, in some instances, culture and race".

The quote simpley does not prove the point. Were there some additional evidence of the point, then the author surely would have put forth reams of it, as he did for his other points. “World travel and getting to know clergy of all denominations has helped mold me into an ecumenical being. We’re separated by theology and, in some instances, culture and race, but all that means nothing to me any more”

6.GRAHAM SAYS THE VIRGIN BIRTH NOT A NECESSARY PART OF CHRISTIAN FAITH -

OK, he says he could "not find anywhere in the New Testament where this particular belief is necessary for personal salvation".

Please cite the verses that he overlooked. You have to prove him wrong to get credit for this one.

7. BILLY GRAHAM HAS PROMOTED PRACTICALLY EVERY PERVERTED BIBLE VERSION TO APPEAR IN THE LAST FOUR DECADES - Ok - so which is it.

Is the bible infallible, or is it perverted. Cloud should make up his mind which way he wants it.

8. BILLY GRAHAM THINKS A MIRACLE HAPPENS IN INFANT BAPTISM - I don't know what the writer's point is here.

Oh, well, If Graham believes God is capable of miracles, then clearly he must be totally off his rocker. /sarc

Matthew wrote: And Jesus having called a little child to him, set it in their midst, and said, Verily I say to you, Unless ye are converted and become as little children, ye will not at all enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens; and whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name, receives me.

But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones who believe in me, it were profitable for him that a great millstone had been hanged upon his neck and he be sunk in the depths of the sea.

9. BILLY GRAHAM SAYS PEOPLE IN OTHER Pagan RELIGIONS CAN BE SAVED - Cloud is batting 1 out of 9 so far.

10. BILLY GRAHAM HAS TURNED THOUSANDS OF CONVERTS OVER TO APOSTATE CHURCHES - Simple Catholic bashing, no other point can be taken.

a·pos·tate (ə-pŏs'tāt', -tĭt) n. One who has abandoned one's religious faith, a political party, one's principles, or a cause.

[Middle English, from Old French, from Late Latin apostata, from Greek apostatēs, from aphistanai, to revolt. ]

His examples do not support the allegation.

Bonus Round:
BILLY GRAHAM SAYS THAT BAPTISM IS NOT HIS CONCERN

Funny, the Apostle Paul said pretty much the same thing. Go figure.

" 9. BILLY GRAHAM SAYS PEOPLE IN OTHER Pagan RELIGIONS CAN BE SAVED - Cloud is batting 1 out of 9 so far."

Actually the way I look at it he's batting 0. Pagans can be saved. They're saved just like anyone else by confessing their sin and accepting Jesus Christ as their savior.

Your post proves that Cloud is guilty of slander and must be admonished for it. He is proving how unfit he is for the office he has in God's Church. Cloud may find himself replaced in the near future if he does not repent.

I still believe that technically, what Graham said, can be true and Biblically so.

IF at the point of death, BECAUSE a person earnestly sought God; sought after God more or less fully, earnestly with all the light they had . . .

and therefore at the point of Death, Christ presents Himself to them and gives them a choice--they could be saved at that point.

It's not something I'd counsel anyone to hold out for--they could be very eternally sadly mistaken.

However, I'm not about to say God couldn't or wouldn't do it that way. There have been too many anecdotal reports from NDE's that He has done such.

In any case, Graham's statement did not rule out such folks becoming believers through evangelization.

HE HAS HAD A PASSION AND A FELT CALLING TO BE A PEACE MAKER AND BRIDGE BUILDER in as many Biblical ways as he could amongst the various Christian sects.

I read a lot of his more questionable statments as follwing from that mandate--wanting to more or less go to extreme lengths to avoid being a cause of division.

Given so many other folks so eager to cause division--it's a nice perspective from a true Evangelical.

He would likely change some of his statements on reflection. Who wouldn't?

If the fire isn't real as Christ says it is, does that make Christ the liar and Billy Graham the saint?
