Interesting article about denial, but I believe it misses the big picture. Too many talking heads in ECUSA present today's unpleasantness as stemming from the unwillingness or inability of some to accept a gay bishop and the unwillingness or inability of others to fully understand and respect that opposition. Such persons are living in denial. Gene Robinson didn't bring about today's unpleasantness, the 50+ year long process that transformed ECUSA from Scripture, reason and tradition into high church Unitarianism brough it about.

I am a seeker, no religion really, but searching.
Being in the military I have come across many things, and I have to ask you, what is the big deal about a gay priest, I mean he is honest about it at least. He is not trying to hide it.
I am not liberal or right wing, just me.
I was on leave and went home to visit my brother recently in Lexington, KY.
I went to his church and ran smack right into a new Reverend of the Episcopal church who happened to be the long lost mother of one of my best buddies back home.
Him and his brother have not seen her in years or had any contact after she left them and their Dad to become a career student on the governments dime of course. Now she is a priest associate.
The church was beautiful, more of a cathedral type, nice people and all, but it turned my stomach to see her marching around in robes and married now to a much younger lawyer. This woman never helped her sons with their education, food, clothes, support, nothing, and she is a Reverand? Don't people do back ground checks on clergy? This person is going to be counseling married folks and teens....yet she abandoned her two small sons years ago. I never told my buddy I saw her, he has a sweet stepmother that he calls "Mom. I did not want to hurt him.
The way I see it, at least the gay priest is being honest, this woman rewrote her history and is on her way to becoming a priest, I think that is even sadder!
I am looking at the Catholic church now, Episcopal? No way!
