We don't want to know what kind of country Saudi Arabia is. We don't weant to know, for isnatnce, that it is helping to sustain the Sunni Arab rebellion in Iraq, because it (1) hates Kurds and (2) loathes Shiites, and cannot stand the fact that Iraq is likely to be dominated by a coalition of the two.
What happened to islam being such a wonderful religion? The word CULT comes to my mind.
This is extremely unacceptable. Why do we continue to treat this country as an ally and why do we continue to avert our eyes from the religious bigotry and persecution it practices?

Dear Freepers in Christ,
Greetings. I am perhaps the only Orthodox Indian Catholic of Portuguese Descent originally from Goa, India on this Forum. I am not from Kerala, India but I believe that Freeper pravknight has made a mistake in his first comment on this Thread.
Freeper pravknight has stated in his first comment on this thread. "Pressure needs to be put on Saudi Arabia to free this Indian Catholic priest whose only crime was celebrating Mass for Catholics in India".
The fact is that this Catholic Priest was arrested for celebrating Holy Mass in Saudi Arabia for Indian Catholics and not in India. I guess that this was a "typo".
It should have read as follows: whose only crime was celebrating Mass for Indian Catholic in Saudi Arabia.
Why is it that as an Orthodox Catholic Indian from the Latin Rite Church-- I am not surprised at all.
What I am shocked and appalled about is that no Country from Western Europe seems remotely concerned when a Catholic Priest or pastor is arrested, harassed, or killed by Islamists in any Moslem Country or whenever a Christian or Christian Pastor is arrested or persecuted in Saudi Arabia or for that matter in any Moslem Country.
Finally, what I am most shocked about is the rapid spread of Islam in a number of Countries in Western Europe which have given a number of Saints to the Catholic Church like France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Ireland, and even Italy.
Virtually nothing is being done in a number of countries in Western Europe to counter the spread of Radical Islam which is spreading like nobody's business in every Major Town and City in Western Europe.
In a number of cities and towns specially in Germany, The Muezzins and Imams have been competing with Catholic Churches and Catholic Priests for souls and this is happening in Europe. I have received credible information to this effect.
When will Western Europe wake up and realize this threat and take it seriously ?
OUR LADY OF LEPANTO, SAVE EUROPE.
KING JOHN SOBIESKI OF POLAND, WE BEG YOU TO SEND HELP TO RESCUE WESTERN CHRISTENDOM AS YOU ONCE RESCUED IT IN 1683 AT THE GATES OF VIENNA WHEN YOU DESTROYED A HUGE TURKISH ARMY THAT OUTNUMBERED YOUR ARMY.
YOU DEFEATED THE TURKS ONLY ARMED WITH TOTAL TRUST IN THE ROSARY AND IN OUR LADY.
BLESSED DON JUAN OF AUSTRIA, SEND ALL HELP AS IS NECESSARY TO DEFEAT THESE DEMONIC INFIDELS WHO ONCE AGAIN THREATEN WESTERN EUROPE AS WELL AS WESTERN CHRISTENDOM AS THEY DID IN THE MIDDLE AGES.
P.s.- Short Message to the following Freepers.
Freepers pravknight,Ad Orientam, RobbyS, TBP -- can I add you all to my Ping List for Threads that I will be posting with the past Homilies of Father Robert Altier from Minneapolis.
I have already posted 2 threads over the last 2 weeks with the Homilies preached by Father Altier from 2001-2005.
Let me say this once and for all "Islam is an evil and demonic religion" -- actually it is a violent cult rather than a Religion. Let us make no mistake about this fact about this Evil Cult which only seeks the destruction of Christianity and Western Civilization.
All I have to say is wake up ! wake up! wake up! Europe -- already it is too late.
The Syro-Malankara are indigenous to India, so I assumed he was celebrating for Indian migrants in Saudi Arabia.
He did make an error there, an understandable one. He typed India when he meant to type Saudi Arabia.
However, there is persecutionm of Christians (and other religious minorities) in India, too. If you go to http://www.persecutedchurch.org they will keep you updated on it.
Tehre ahave been murders of priests, rapes of nuns (some of whom were forced to drink their own urine), church burnings, attacks on Christian schools and prayer halls, and other incidents. Missionary Graham Staines and his two little boys were burned to death while they slept in their jeep by a mob of Hindus chanting "Victory to Hannuman." These things happen with impunity, generally. In fact, the rapists of nuns were praised by one of the major political parties in India. Police broke up a Christian religious festival with gunfire. Several states have med it illegal to convert from Hinduism to any other religion.
No matter where it occurs, religious persecution is a grievous offense. We should take action against agovernemnts that fail to act against it. Even if all we do is cut off their aid, that would be a start.
I absolutely agree. We msut pressure them any way we can. Start by stopping aid to them and see what we can do next.
Unfortunately, the alternative is likely to be even worse. It happened in China, Cuba, Iran, Nicaragua, and other countries when we pulled the rug out from less-than-democratic governments, and it could well happen to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan if we do the same to them.
So what do we do to pressure the House of Saud on this?
Dear pravknight,
Yes, that is quite right. The Syro-Malankara Rite is indigenous to India. It is obvious that he was celebrating Holy Mass for Indian Catholic Migrants in Sudi Arabia.
This Eastern Rite Catholic Church was founded in 65 A.D. by one of the Disciples of Saint Thomas -- the Apostle who came to Kerala, India to spread the Gospel in 60 A.D.
It was just a typo I guess.
In Christ,
Dear TBP,
Yes, I do agree that there is rampant persecution and discrimination against Catholics and Christians in India by Extremist Hindu Groups and their various supporters.
However, it needs to be stated here on this Thread and Forum that the Persecution that Indian Catholics and Christians face pales in comparison with the persecution that Catholics and other Christians face in Moslem Countries which is intolerable and hellish.
BTW, There is an excellent resource on the persecution of Indian Catholics and Christians at the following Link--
http://www.compassdirect.org It is a Christian News Agency based in Santa Ana, California.
In Christ Our Lord and Savior,
Dear Freepers in Christ,
I would like to draw the attention of all Freepers on this Thread to the untold suffering of Coptic Christian Women in Egypt who are being forced to convert to Islam by Young Fanatic Moslem Men who do whatever it takes to convert them to that evil cult.
Many Young Coptic Christian Women have been forcibly converted and kidnapped for the last 10-15 years and nothing seems to move any Western Countries to intervene on their behalf.
To make matters worse, a number of weeks back Canadian Immigration Authorities deported a number of Coptic Christians from Egypt who had sought Asylum in Canada.
They have literally sent them to their death by sending them back to Egypt. It is a perpetual death sentence for Christians in Egypt as they face Persecution and Discrimination on all fronts even from a so called Secular Government that is in power in Egypt.
I really have to ask this question to you all-- It seems that being a Christian or Catholic does not make a difference at all in the eyes of some European Countries or even in North America at all.
In Christ,
Dear Freepers in Christ,
Here is a particularly sad storyy about one young Coptic Woman who was forced to convert to Islam and not even her Family or her Brother could do anything to save her or rescue her.
A very sad story. Her name is Theresa Ghattas Kamal. Her story can be read at the following Link. There are more stories about her at Compass Direct and about other Coptic Women who face a similar situation.

Catholic ping!
I join in your prayers for the defeat of these enemies of Christianity and the civilized world.
I need the link please, so I can send it out. I can't find the story.
Freepmail me your info and links so I can get them to the media.
