My daughter made the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela last summer. This is the "Botafumiera" - the giant thurible - that is charged and lit and then swung back and forth through the cathedral by eight guys with ropes.
You could do the Anglican Usage (if things are worked right), like we have here in Houston. Very smoky.
