'Satanic' Art In Catholic Church Exposed

Could the Roman Catholic Church's sex abuse crisis be tied to embedded Satanic and occult imagery in its artwork - some of it hundred's of years old?
That is the seemingly incredible thesis of a new documentary, "Rape of the Soul," made not by anti-Catholic bigots, but by devout followers of the Church.
Rape of the Soul is in theatrical release in major cities, including New York and Los Angeles.
The documentary explores the prevalent use of satanic, sexual, and occult and anti-Catholic images in historical and contemporary religious artwork. The film also discusses the acceptance of the artwork at the highest and most trusted levels of the Catholic Church...
..."Artists from DaVinci to Botticelli have imbedded subliminal images into their art for centuries, said Calace...In this case we found penises on crucifixes, anarchy symbols, swastikas, demonic faces and in modern works even the word 'sex' encrypted into the images.
The works in question include modern artists' work currently on the covers of missalettes and hymnals that at this very moment sit in the pews of churches throughout the U.S. and on children's teaching aids."

Don't worry, there's time yet.
Unless you're a Jehovah's Witness.
In which case, you should probably get your affairs in order.

Look at the bottom right hand corner of that pic.
There is the image of a hornless goat in the rocks by the other goat's foot!
It's a conspiracy of goats!
To: restornu
That's a goat's head, to be specific.

Check out the photo restornu posted in 156! There's a goat's head hidden in the bottom right hand corner. Conspeeeeeracy!!!!

But FC's comment was that she had never heard of anyone who wanted to kill Catholics. I have.My comment was that I have never heard of FREEPERS who wantd Cathgolics dead. I think it's wrong for any of you to say that Freepers who are not catholic and disagree with catholic doctrine are bent on killing catholics.
It's very wrong for that to be said because it simply is a lie.

According to your church, there is no salvation for a Protestant outside of your church...You can remove your foot now...
Why is it in an orifice of yours? Please excuse me; it was hard to miss it.
You have just displayed the typical conduce of one who is selective in your reading. From the very same lick you yourself provided.
Many people misunderstand the nature of this teaching.
Indifferentists, going to one extreme, claim that it makes no difference what church one belongs to. Certain radical traditionalists, going to the other extreme, claim that unless one is a full-fledged, baptized member of the Catholic Church, one will be damned.
This very quote is the second and third lines in the text. Is there something you are not understanding about the phrase going to one extreme and the following phrase going to the other extreme?
Yes there seems to be a little more reading you need to do to understand Catholic Theology. I will tell you this it is a little more than one can read on a bumper sticker.

There is an article here that shows some of the "evidence" that there are Satanic messages embeded in Catholic art.

Like the author of the article - I agreee that this is pretty silly stuff.

"">>One should remember that the film producers themselves (of the film: "Rape of the Soul") are Catholics<<"
So are John Kerry and Teddy Kennedy. Things are not always what they seem."
Good point netmilmon, not that it will convince some. Of course we could follow their example and point out Jim and Tammy Fay Baker were Protestant followed by a mention of Jimmy Swagart and a host of others. The fun part is admitting the adulterer (with a nun no less) Martin Luther was... well he was Catholic so I guess all that he did is the RCC's fault. Well he was Catholic at one point at least.
Okay I am getting dizzy thinking along this lack of logic line of thought.

What would you consider "hard evidence?"
Well I guess it might be something along the line of images consistently found within the artwork.
I don't like to look for a demon behind every bush, but if legible images that have apparent satanic overtones might lead me to believe their is something afoot.
To: steadfastconservative
Why then does the RCC quote 1 Clement to bolster its claims concerning the Apostolic Succession when it(1 Clement) is not Canonical to them? If it is truly inspired by God, should it not be included in their Canon?
Secondly, Clement's belief that the mythical phoenix was a literal creature is shown in that the ancients truly believed in the mythical phoenix. This belief was common among the Greeks, and among the Romans. Pliny believed in the mythical phoenix.
Clement apparently was trying to use the phoenix as a proof that Christ arose from the dead. Because, if God could create the phoenix which is a creature that arises again, could not God also raise His Son from the dead?
Most of the scholarly work and comments that I have read from various Protestants, Catholics, Anglicans and others state pretty much in agreement that Clement did believe that the mythical phoenix was a literal creature.

Wow, tell us how you really feel.
I for one believe in spiritual warfare. I do not put anything past the enemy. Again though, I do not try to look for a demon behind every bush.
Should be interesting to see what they base their research and findings.

Pre-installed Catholic Bias? Hardly. Just Ad Hominem from you.
And if I do have a pre-installed Catholic bias, which I don't - Then that means that there are many Catholics, Anglicans and others within Academia who also have a pre-installed bias as well.
You see, I have read more than one (in fact many) scholarly, academic opinions on Clement's writings concerning the phoenix, and based upon what I have read most of them state that Clement did believe that the mythical phoenix was a literal creature.
Look at the words he used, which are basically this: There is a creature that has a specific name. It lives this long(500 years). It flies in front of the sight of all the priests. It flies to this Egyptian city, etc, etc...
The references to the Apostolic Succession and the references to the phoenix are BOTH listed within the same body of work (1 Clement). Therefore, one spurious section would have an impact on the credibility of the rest of the work. Do you now understand?
We have to also understand some other important things as well.
1.) It has not been shown with utmost certainty when this work was actually written. Various estimates from 80 AD to 160 AD have been suggested, based upon various anomalies within it.
2.) This work could indeed be a pious fraud, which were common before the 3rd century, like the work, The Protoevangelion of James.
3.) If Clement did in fact write this letter, it isn't even known precisely when he wrote this letter.

Oh I know, if it something that is even somewhat negative concerning the RCC then we should all just ignore it. Right. Sure.
Kind of like the child-molestations that went on so long within the RCC were pretty much ignored, and/or buried? Hmmm?

It's completely subjective? It could be that your opinion on this matter is that which is subjective.
Who said that there was a conspiracy of some type taking place? From where did you fancy that query?
