According to Riah Abu Asal, Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem and the Middle East, martyrs receive eternal life: Do not consider those that were killed for the sake of God as dead, but alive with their Lord. The Anglican church in the middle east needs a new bishop.

Is it clear he is talking about the Moslem "shaheed" who blow up innocent Israeli civilians? Is he implicitly doing so with ambiguous words? A Christian martyr is one who is killed by someone else through odium fidei, not someone who kills others. The Islamic definition of "martyr" has no connection with the true definition of a martyr.
