A reader has informed me of the following event taking place in Ontario, Canada in June. It sounds interesting to say the least. Anything with the title "Erotic Liturgy: The Book of Common Prayer Unleashed" has GOT to be interesting...
Download the PDF flyer here.
Go to the Cranmer Conference website here.
As with other events, I can't really endorse it or vouch for the efficacy of it. I'm not sure I would be in agreement with Thomas Cranmer in the area of Eucharistic doctrine, but that's a whole different chapter in my book that I have no plan to write.
Here's a tantalizing snippet from the brochure:
Desire (eros in Greek) is the common and recurring
theme in the ancient Liturgy of the Book of
Common Prayer Tradition. Love and desire are
at the root of classical Anglican Worship - its way
of life encourages a love affair with God which is
a joyful, constant and deepening repentance and
conversion. The BCP Liturgy embodies this theme
of holy desire as a striving for God, with God,
into God.
