Thanks. I think the two mile walk however it was very cold helped get my mind off of eating the corned beef.

And the soup from the mix was wonderful to warm up after the hike.

I don't really like corned beef but gave into the hype.

I was kinda dissappointed in the news (I went to another room to view as the other household person is not watching tv as his lent commit, boy who would ever think one would miss the tv) that they were reporting that the Church lifted the abstain from meat rule for St.Pattys' day but they failed to add that we are to find a suitable replacement such as visit the homebound or Pray the Rosary ect...

They misreported the truth basically.

Hey if anyone is lifting up Prayers we need some warm sunshine really bad.

I love the warm el nino rain but this Alaskan cold air is more than enough for this long winter.

Wow never thought of the glycemic as my BG has been running at 109 but be interesting to see what it is after nipping at that lump of Corned beef.

The broth has been nice however probably chalk full of sodium as you mentioned and that does elevate the BG.

Next time you want to have some corned beef just boil it for a short time to get the salt out. Then put it in a roasting pan, cover it with a honey mustard sauce and bake. The sauce will bake right in and it will not be soggy.

Makes WONDERFUL sandwiches.

There is a similar Irish toast I really like, too, but I always get it so jumbled. I'm going to write yours down and put it in my wallet!

Thanks!

**but they failed to add that we are to find a suitable replacement such as visit the homebound or Pray the Rosary ect...**

The bishops have asked us to keep an Ember Day next week, I think it is Wednesday, to abstain and to fast. Really not connected to St. Patrick's Day, but one has to stop and wonder.
