We have a 'mega' church in town and they are drawing in the people! A doctor, my daughter worked for, was invited to attend one of their 'get togethers'.

He said it lasted hours and they passed the money basket 5 times!! He thought he'd never get away, lol.

Megachurches are like any other church: some are good and some are bad. As with any other church, choose wisely.

My church is technically not a megachurch. We can seat around 800 if we pack them in and we have 3 services on Sundays now. Average Sunday attendance is around 1600. You have to remember, however, that my home town's population is 16,000 and the town the church is in has a population of 400. Although my church isn't a non-denom (Southern Baptist, if you're curious) the thing that drew me to it over the local AoG and Pentecostal churches was I felt like the Pentecostal churches were doing to much 'health and wealth' gospel. I don't believe my Pentecostal friends think that the Christian life is all health and wealth, but they do sound that way, and it worries me that they are leaving the wrong impression, and when people get saved and it doesn't turn out to be all health and wealth, they fall away.
