As I have gotten closer to God over the years I have learned why the KJV is the best of the translations of the original Greek and Hebrew text.

How can that be if we have discovered far better and in most cases older texts of both the Greek and Hebrew Bible than they had when the KJV was translated" Furthermore, I presume you have studied and have a working knowledge of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek to make your determination that the KJV is the best translation, correct?

Older in which sense?

Would we need one that predates Christ (with regard to the Old Testament)?

Wouldn't we be more interested in the one in use in the time of Christ and the Apostles, and what their thoughts were on it? (Again speaking with regard to the Old Testament).
