Having no knowledge of Scripture and relying on another persons understanding and teaching is consistant with being a Catholic It is also consistent with most newly baptized Christians as well.

True to a degree. New Christians know enough scriptre to become a Christian. After that true Christians continue to study the Bible so they may mature in their faith and understanding.
