Well, you are wrong already. Mary and Joseph abstained throughout Mary's pregnancy and Jesus was born of a virgin.

I was speaking of after the birth of Jesus.

If Mary and Joseph could mutually abstain from coming together for more than 40 days before the birth of Jesus, they could certainly do so after.
