PRAYER FOR HOLY PRIESTS

O my Jesus, I thank Thee, that Thou art truly, actually, and substantially, human and divine,
present here in the mystery of the Sacrament of the Altar.

Thou hast said, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you."
See, Lord, I come and knock. I ask Thee:
Send us holy priests!

O my Jesus, Thou hast said: "Whatever you ask the Father in MY Name, it shall be granted you."
See, Lord, in Thy Name I ask Thy Father the grace:
Send us holy priests!

O my Jesus, Thou hast said: "Heaven and earth shall pass away but My Word shall not pass away."
See, Lord, in trust of the infallibility of Thy Word, I ask Thee:
Send us holy priests!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee!
Please bless Thy priests!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, it is not possible for Thee to have no sympathy for us wretches.
Have mercy on us sinners, and grant us through the threefold full of grace, beautiful, and
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Thy Mother and ours, the grace to which we pray to Thee. Amen.

O Mary, Queen of the clergy, pray for us:
obtain for us many holy priests.

O Lord, grant unto Thy Church saintly priests and fervent religious.

Send forth, O Lord, laborers into Thy harvest.

O Lord, grant us priests!
O Lord, grant us holy priests!
O Lord, grant us many holy priests!
O Lord, grant us many holy religious vocations!

Educated in Barcelona, Spain where he joined the Dominicans. Missionary to the Philippines. Missionary to Vietnam in 1732. Spent nine years in prison for his faith during which he converted fellow prisoners and supervised evangelists on the outside. Beheaded in 1744 in Checo, Vietnam. One of the Martyrs of Vietnam.

Saint Vincent of Digne

Saint Vincent of Saragossa
Friend of Saint Valerius of Saragossa in Spain, and served as his deacon. Imprisoned and tortured in Valencia, some of it by burning on a gridiron, for his faith. Converted the jailer. Was finally offered release if he would give up the sacred texts to the fire, but he refused. Martyred c.304 at Valencia during the persecutions of Diocletian.

Saint William Patenson
Studied at Reims, France. Ordained in 1587. Returned to England in 1588 to minister covertly to Catholics. Arrested in 1591, he was condemned to death for the crime of priesthood. While in awaiting his execution, he ministered to other prisoners, and converted some of them to Catholicism. Hanged, drawn, and quartered in 1592 at Tyburn, England.
