HOLIDAY OR HOLYDAY SPIRIT?

"It is the Spirit Who testifies to this, and the Spirit is truth." —1 John 5:6

Throughout most of the world, where Epiphany is celebrated today, this is the greatest day of the Christmas season. Yet no matter what part of the world you're in, today the Lord desires to give you the only true Christmas Spirit, the Holy Spirit. He will give you the gift of gifts by baptizing and immersing you in the Spirit (Mk 1:8). The Spirit will confirm you as a child of God. He will cry out in you, "Abba," (Father) (Gal 4:6). You will be sure of your inheritance and of God's promises (Rm 8:15-17). By faith, you will move boldly into 2006 in the power of the Spirit (Lk 4:1) and claim your position as "conqueror of the world" (1 Jn 5:5).

There are only four days left in the Christmas season. Don't let this Christmas slip by without believing and receiving the Holy Spirit. You don't have to be holy to receive the Spirit, but you have to receive the Spirit to be holy. Moreover, you must have a strong desire. "If anyone thirsts" for the Spirit (Jn 7:37), he receives the fountain of living water "leaping up to provide eternal life" (Jn 4:14).

"The testimony is this: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever possesses the Son possesses life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not possess life" (1 Jn 5:11-12). Let the Son give you the ultimate Christmas present: baptize you in the Spirit and renew your Confirmation.

Prayer: Jesus, may I have an ever-increasing thirst for the Holy Spirit (Jn 7:37).
Promise: "Then a voice came from the heavens: 'You are My beloved Son. On You My favor rests.' " —Mk 1:11
Praise: Bl. André thirsted and found the Fountain of living water, Jesus Christ. People came from all over the world to be healed by the "Miracle Man of Montreal."

Mk 1:7-11
# Douay-Rheims Vulgate
7 And he preached, saying: There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. et praedicabat dicens venit fortior me post me cuius non sum dignus procumbens solvere corrigiam calciamentorum eius
8 I have baptized you with water; but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. ego baptizavi vos aqua ille vero baptizabit vos Spiritu Sancto
9 And it came to pass, in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. et factum est in diebus illis venit Iesus a Nazareth Galilaeae et baptizatus est in Iordane ab Iohanne
10 And forthwith coming up out of he water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit as a dove descending, and remaining on him. et statim ascendens de aqua vidit apertos caelos et Spiritum tamquam columbam descendentem et manentem in ipso
11 And there came a voice from heaven: Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. et vox facta est de caelis tu es Filius meus dilectus in te conplacui

Dear Salvation,

I have read your message. Perhaps, your I.S.P. (Internet Service Provider) was not working too well. It seems that on www.desertvoice.org for the moment one can access all the Homilies of Father Altier for the Year 2005 and all those so far posted for 2006.

I believe that one cannot access Homilies for the Years 2004, 2003, 2002, and 2001 -- whenh they first started posting them on the net. All of us who love Father Altier's Homilies will be able to access all his Homilies from March 2001 to now once they have succesfully transferred their data to a new server and done the necessary updates.

Please check out a new thread posted by me as well as this web-page. It is a Marian Basilica in Eastern India just 5-10 miles from the city of Calcutta.

It is www.bandelbasilica.org

In Jesus and Mary,
