I'd like to see the sources also. The dates are quite old. The one that made me laugh was the coed pregnancy rate at BYU. Um, many of the coeds are MARRIED, the percentage is much higher than at other universities. Some of the information is questionable, like the information from the Vernal Express (?). The Deseret News did a series on the high suicide rate amongst Utah teenage boys several years ago.
Rest, you have to remember that colorcountry has an agenda. Statistics can be twisted and used to prove anything. The high bankruptcy rate can be attributed to some many Utahns starting their own businesses and not having enough money to carry them through the first five years. A 400% increase might be 10 people taking a drug one year and 40 people taking it the next year. There is NO context provided.
The other thing is that we are all human. The gospel of Jesus Christ is here to help us through this life and our mistakes. Repentance for our sins and forgiveness comes through Jesus Christ.
Congratulations on your ability to stomach some of this stuff! I have to follow the ITI formula. Ignore the ignorant! It is nice to know that many are considerate and truly full of condolence.
I am deeply saddened by the news of these missionaries and pray for them, their families, their friends and their wards.
