Well, I'd love to take you out to coffee if you get to LA and take you through your own Book of Mormon. Until then, just answer me this one thing:

How come God spoke to Joseph Smith in 1840 (or whatever year Joseph Smith got the special magical glasses that allowed him to read the Egyptian hieroglyphics that translated into the Book of Mormon) -- how come "God" spoke in the 19th century to Smith in King James (i.e. 12th Century) English?

That was the biggest giveaway to me when I was a teen that Smith was smoking a lot of pixie dust after his Masonic meetings.

Smith was a defrocked Mason. He was thrown out for trying to convert Free Masonry into a religion. Masonry is not a religion and does not attempt to displace religion, but rather encourages the brethren to be active members of their own faith.

Now, I know this will offend all of you Mason-bashers out there, but that is the truth.

Um, because it's a translation, and Joseph Smith decided to use King James English when he did the translating. Sheesh.
