Next, verses [1 Cor 15:] 24 - 29 mention Christ's reign and the abolition of death. This is when this controversial verse occurs: "Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?"

Paul isn't talking about pagans, but other Christians who are baptizing their dead. I don't agree with your explanation of this Scripture. I think it was a valid practice at first, but later done away with.

If Baptism of the dead was a valid practice, then do you know why it was done away with? Was this an official Church practice at one time?
