I'm not actually here to participate in "tests" K50, as I have left school behind. Now is the real world. I will speak for Hrley here, even though I do not know him very well, but as to the latter half of your statement, again, it is unsubstantiated, certainly neither of us think that we are the authority here, we are just readers of the Word which we appeal to in our arguments and it is our authority.
Since I have no reason to think Paul wrote gnostic texts, I will not waste my time wandering around the internet looking for them. If you have an argument to make, please make it and use some facts, thanks. Now please don't take this the wrong way, :)
Not at all! It's your decision to think you know all there is to know. I will not do your homework. I would say that your way of looking at this issue is a copout, but don't take it personally. :)
It is how you look at knowledge, 1000 silverlings: you can either say I know everything God wanted me to know and believe in flat earth and oppose "flying mahcines" because God didn't give us wings, or you can say that God gave us intellect to find His truth.
I really doubt that anyone has the faith of the Christians who died for theirs in Roman arenas, who put God first in everything. We are all imperfect. Accepting it (our own imperfection and room for improvement) is the first step in theosis. Therefore "Seek and ye shall find."
Absolutely correct. We can only read what the scriptures states.
Since I have no reason to think Paul wrote gnostic texts, I will not waste my time wandering around the internet looking for them.
Likewise. My feeling is that if I have to choose between the inspired word of God or someone claiming certain elements of the scriptures is suspect because it's Gnostic, I'll side with the scriptures. Otherwise one might as well become an atheist.
