We do not worship icons or statues. We worship only God. We ask saints for intercessional prayers on our behalf the way we ask the same from our brethren on earth. We believe that the saints are alive in heaven, that life does not end with physical death, that the saved are with God and offer their prayers on our behalf. Asking someone to pray for you is not the same as worshiping God.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God... Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." -- Romans 8:26-27;34"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
