I'm not following you here. This is in reference to what? Worried about what? I'm not following you in the context of our discussion...

You seem so concerned that people think that they are elect. Well anyone who truly loves Christ is one of the elect. Now if you think your salvation rests on anything other than God's grace, then you may have a lot to worry about.

Are you elect? You should know it right now. If you can't say yes, then perhaps it is because you think your salvation is somehow dependent upon you. In that case it is not God who you are relying upon for your salvation, but yourself. If you are relying upon yourself for your salvation, then maybe you should be worried.

Oh, ok, thanks for the clarification.

You seem so concerned that people think that they are elect.

I said I never knew anyone who talked about it who didn't think they were. Others experience seemed to agree with mine. So it becomes a meaningless debate to me and too often a competition of pride and theology. That can be harmful as in the examples I gave. I think we should be careful about using theology if it results in harm others.

I also said this does not have to be the case for everyone.

Are you elect?

You're still way beyond my paygrade - and yours too a wise person told me recently.

If you can't say yes, then perhaps it is because you think your salvation is somehow dependent upon you.

Non sequitor. Unless "perhaps" covers such wide ground as to not join the clause before. Perhaps or perhaps not.

In that case….

Or perhaps not.
