My wife went away for a week. She wanted the kitchen painted and I promised it would be done by the time she got back. I kissed her and told her I loved her as I put her on the plane. The night before she was to come home I was watching a basketball game and remembered what I had promised. Now knowing my wife, if the kitchen was not painted she would be a bit upset but just being home would have made her happy. However, I told her I loved her and it would be done and I spent the night painting the kitchen. When she got home and saw the kitchen her face lit up and her delight made all the work worthwhile and the weariness of the job fade away. That was the reward I was looking for to see the joy on my beloved's face. That is what I think it will be like.
Like Paul, the elect want to finish well, to fight the good fight, finish the course, keep the faith and hear the "well done" from the One we love.
