What I reported was what John Calvin wrote and taught--God is not the creator of evil. If this point of Calvin's raises more questions for you, and you consider yourself a Calvinist, I suggest that you read a lot more of Calvin's writings. You may find the answer you are looking for there.
I believe you satate in post #4684, "Someone who claims to be a Calvinist was arguing that God is the source of evil."
I asked you, "If not God, then who or what? Are you saying that evil is uncreated"
I take it from your response you don't know and are just asking questions to ask questions. We are celebrating this season God's triumph over evil, a triumph that was in God's mind before all of creation. A question for you. If God didn't create evil, how could He have planned the triumph over it before it was created? If you say He foresaw that evil would be created then either you posit a being equal to God or God created that being with the facility to create evil which is the same as creating evil.
I have no trouble understanding Calvin nor the scriptures that say - Jhn 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
