I forgot to mention.
Pope Benedict offered holy communion for ANY/ALL Russian Orthodox but the reciprocation was refused. So Benedict did make the offer from Rome's side.
I expect he will make the offer again someday. That I don't know.

I don't recall this but I might easily have missed it. That it was refused wouldn't surprise me, from what I have learned from the Orthodox on FR.
